Saranda judicial police officer suspended for hiding investigation data

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Saranda has registered criminal proceedings no. 696/2025 for the criminal offense of "Acts that impede the discovery of the truth" provided for by article 301 of the Criminal Code against the judicial police officer JP.

From the investigations carried out, it results that the judicial police officer is suspected of having concealed investigative data important for the investigation, obtained from the examination of the seized cell phone device within the framework of a criminal proceeding with no. 592/2024 registered for the criminal offense of "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", provided for by article 278/6 of the Criminal Code related to the transportation of ten "Glock" weapons and one hundred and fifty bullets in the direction of Saranda on 13.09.2024.

In view of the above, the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Saranda requested the imposition of the security measure "Arrest in prison" provided for by Article 238 of the Criminal Code.

The Court decided to impose on the person under investigation the security measure "Suspension of the exercise of a public duty or service" provided for by Article 242 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
