This is the 16th day that residents of Baks-Rrjoll in Velipojë have been protesting against the occupation of their properties, where a resort will be built by businessman Bashkim Ulaj.
Shkodra Police have escorted 6 residents of Baks-Rrjoll this Wednesday morning, including a woman, who blocked the path of employees of the company that is building the resort on their property.
If the Administrative Appeal does not issue a decision to stop the construction work by the construction company, the residents warned that they will go on a hunger strike in front of SPAK.
Around 60 families are demanding a halt to the works. The protests have been accompanied by clashes with the Police, which have included incidents and residents' escorts to the Police Station.

Residents denounce that the resort is being built on their lands that they have inherited for generations.
This is the second time that these residents have appeared before SPAK. We recall that, on March 25 of last year, they also filed a criminal complaint against the construction company, as well as against those people who are suspected of having falsified property documents in Baks-Rrjoll.
A tourist village with luxury villas and hotels will be built on the border between Rana e Hedhun and the Baks-Rrjoll area in Shkodër and has an area of 147.2 hectares.
On December 31, 2024, businessman Bashkim Ulaj, together with his two brothers Astrit and Ahmet Ulaj, received the special status of "investor in a 5-star accommodation structure, special status" for the construction of the Blue-Borgo tourist resort on the coast of Velipoja.
