The former head of the information service, Fatos Klosi, said today that the January 21 protest, where 4 protesters were killed, was planned.

He said in an interview in "Euronews Albania" that the murders happened when the protest was over and not when it was the peak of the rally. According to him, the reason for the protest was for former Prime Minister Sali Berisha to show that he is "god" in the country.

"The cases were programmed by those who have the weapons in their hands. They were state murders because the weapons were in the hands of state employees. All the facts lead to the fact that everything was programmed. The killings happened when the protest was over. The killings were done too late, not when the protest was at its peak.

When I was in the service, I was told that our allies in Albania will be with whoever establishes order in the country. They said this when Fatos Nano fled to Macedonia on September 14. The order got out of hand. 8 years later, Berisha programmed this event to show that he was the master of this country, he was the one who kept order, even with murder. He wanted to show the public opinion and the international community that he is the master of the country" - said Kosi.
