An account on the social network Instagram, with names and provocative photos of girls taken from various websites, is enough as a starting point for an online scam, with the promise of meeting them in exchange for various payments.

Such a scheme was used by a group of minors in Tirana who deceived some boys by asking them to give an advance of up to 15 thousand new lek, in order to meet with a fake girl that they created through an Instagram profile.

The minors opened the same account simultaneously on their mobile phones and after adding hundreds of people by "following" them, they spoke and answered the boys as if they were girls, which in fact did not exist.

When sexual services were added to the false offer, the value of the money reached frightening figures from 500 to 700 euros, but trying to "bargain" in some cases it ended up being 50 euros. The minors asked the "prey" to leave the money in an envelope in some secret places at the entrance of a building in the capital.

They would then be directed to go up to an apartment, and once the duped boys hoped to find the girl they thought they had been talking to, the minors would physically take the money to the secret location, as instructed, and leave without a trace, trapping them in the web. social profiles of the boys who had cheated.

Throughout 2022, 13 cases of fraud of this nature have been reported to the Tirana Police. Young men and women who paid money for sexual services found themselves losing their money and in the absence of a solution turned to the authorities.

The most serious is the case of an Italian who lives in the capital, who sent with a transfer agency not a little, but 1300 euros for sexual relations with what he thought was a girl, but who was directed over the phone by boys, who after receiving the money, they blocked him on social networks.
