What the security camera revealed: The 20-year-old Portuguese man who was killed

Top Channel has revealed the file of the Saranda prosecutor's office, regarding the serious crime that occurred a few days ago in Ksamil where 20-year-old tourist Luis Miguel Varela Mendes was stabbed to death.

Top Channel journalist Anila Hoxha has secured the file, which reveals, among other things, the full dynamics of the fight that ended in murder, with Sokrat Vata as the accused perpetrator.

The incident occurred at around 05:15 on August 18, when a physical altercation broke out between the group of tourists and several other people. Surveillance footage shows that the altercation escalated into punches and a chase between the people involved, continuing into the beach area.

During the fight, 20-year-old Mendes was initially punched by several people. Then, Sokrat Lipan alias Sokrat Vata approached the young man and stabbed him several times in the body. David Heurtevent is also suspected of punching the victim during the conflict.

But what did the security cameras catch?

At 05:14:24 on 18.08.2026, it is observed that from the premises of the “Principotes” bar, several citizens emerge and stand on the sand of the external premises of the “Paradise” entity, among whom are identified citizens Ibrahim Lemoie, Sudae Akmahmat, Florian Cetina and Luis Mendes, wearing a white T-shirt with black writing on the back. At 05:15:22 on 18.08.2026, from the parking lot on the south side of Principotes, we observe that two citizens approach, specifically Davit Heuertvent in front and Sokrat Lipan (Vata), wearing a white shirt, to the place where the foreign citizens were. At 05:16:39, citizen Sokrat Lipan (Vata) is observed pushing a person wearing a white shirt and Sokrat is observed moving away from him and heading towards the sun loungers.

At 05:16:47, citizen Sokrat Lipan follows one of the people, who is dressed in white, and Sokrat follows him from behind towards the parking lot. At 05:16:54, citizen Sokrat Lipan (Vata) is observed running towards citizen Ibrahim Lemoie, who crashes into the sun loungers and falls to the ground and Sokrat hits him in his direction. At 05:17:14, at these moments, citizen Luis Mendes approaches and pushes citizen Sokrat Lipan with his body, who falls to the ground. Citizen Sokrat Lipan (Vata) gets up from the ground and approaches citizen Luis Mendes and starts hitting him in his direction. At 05:17:20, citizen Davit Heuertvent, wearing shorts and a dark-colored shirt, together with citizen Sokrat Lipan (Vata), hit citizen Luis Mendes, and during this time, citizen Sudae Akhmat comes to help his friend, citizen Luis Mendes, and hits citizen Sokrat Lipan.

At 05:17:35-05:17:46, citizen Serxhi Selimi punches French citizen Ibrahim Lemoie, during which time citizen Luis Mendes, to escape the blows he was receiving from Sokrat Lipan and David Heurtevent, leaves in a hurry by entering the sea.

At 05:17:53, citizen Luis Mendes approaches the southern side of the beach where the waitresses are and is punched by citizen Serxhi Ademi, who pushes him into the sea. At 05:18:04, citizen Luis Mendes comes out of the water and walks towards the Paradise beach loungers, where it is noticed that his white T-shirt is bloodied.

At 05:18:24, citizen Davit Heuertvent is seen leaving in the direction of the interior of the Principota, who is seen to be bloodied on the front of his clothes and is hiding. At 05:20:28, citizen Sokrat Lipan leaves, whose white shirt is bloodied, and behind him is the waiter Ildi Cekani, who accompanies him from behind in the direction of the "Principota" bar.
