The Special Court of Appeals has remanded in prison police officer Armand Marvataj, who is suspected of receiving 10,000 euros from Juxhin Koka to allow him to retrieve the oil blocked in Durres.

Police Officer Marvataj was assigned the task of guarding the Tanzanian ship "AYAZANOYBYA", seized on January 13 of this year with 200 tons of smuggled oil.

According to SPAK, the extraction of fuel took place in the middle of the day, around 3:00 PM on January 27th in Porto Romano, where the ship had been anchored since its seizure by court order.

AMP agents and the Durrës Police conducted a re-examination of the ship, including footage from security cameras in Porto Romano, which filmed the moments of the oil extraction, which was taken with a pipe through a pump and loaded onto the tanker.

An examination of samples taken from the ship showed that the oil had been replaced with water.
