NAME/ Convicted of domestic violence, 50-year-old man dies in Lezha prison!

At the Lezha Penitentiary Institution, during the shift change, the basic role employee found that the inmate with forced medication, Sotir Shabani, lying in bed, was unresponsive.

The doctor on duty was immediately notified, who, after verification, determined that the patient had passed away.

Sotir Shabani , born on 21.12.1975, born and residing in Ballsh, Mallakastër, was accommodated in the institution on 27.11.2021, for the criminal offense of " Domestic Violence ", with a compulsory treatment measure.

The relevant documentation has been drafted and the institution's leaders, the ICRC specialist, the Lezha Police Commissariat, as well as the available Prosecutor, have been notified for the continuation of legal procedures.

The institution is cooperating with the competent authorities to fully clarify the circumstances of the case.
