'They chose the winner', Ilir Beqaj "sues" the Bid
Ilir Beqaj

Ilir Beqaj, has dismissed the responsibility regarding the sterilization concession to the Bid Evaluation Commission, saying that they were the ones who selected the winner.

Panorama writes that during his 9-hour testimony, the former Health official said that the minister only had a role in issuing the order to open the concession procedure. Although he admitted that he signed the contract himself, Beqaj further clarified that the conditions and content of the concession agreement were determined by a joint team of the Ministry and the union of the winning companies.

Referring to the data, it is noted that, among other things, he was asked about the possibility of receiving benefits from that concession, which in fact has been talked about for 7 years almost every year, but the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana decided to close the case after, according to her, could not find elements of the criminal offense in what was reported and then investigated by the investigative body of Tirana.

Ilir Beqja is informed that he denied breaking the law at any time, as he simply acted procedurally, showing that everything was in the hands of the responsible persons. He has also spoken at length about the existence of a conflict of interest with the recognition of the procedures against the businessman who is the beneficiary of the contract, but Beqja has again denied having knowledge or connection with him, although the beneficiary has also received him in Italy, specifically in Peruxha, ex- the minister.

But even though there are no registered investigations against him yet, yesterday, for 8 hours he was questioned as a person who has knowledge of the circumstances of the crime. The former Deputy Minister of Health, Klodian Rrjepaj, and all the members of the commission who evaluated the tender procedures were asked about the same investigation three times in a row.
