An Albanian citizen was detained during the control at the port of Bari in Italy, after trying to traffic a pair of breeches.

The Albanian resident in Italy was traveling in a van when, during the inspection, the portal authorities discovered a box with two Testudo hermanni turtles, which are classified as endangered species.

The authorities in Italy say that the Albanian has violated the Washington International Convention (CITES) for the prohibition of trafficking in these species, and is now very dangerous under the law.

The turtles were handed over to some members of the WWF, who will release them back into the wild.
