Italian media have published the testimony of a resident of Tolentino in Italy, who witnessed the scene of the murder of Albanian woman, Gentiana Hudhra, by her ex-husband.
"I was in the bar when I heard a terrifying scream. I went outside and saw a fight between a man and a woman. At one point she fell to the ground, helpless, while he continued to kick her. I immediately called 118, approached him and saw a lot of blood. He was sitting on a bench, almost satisfied, and said: 'I did it, I'm fine. I'm waiting.'"
The mayor of Tolentino, Mauro Sclavi, and the deputy mayor, Alessia Pupo, also went to the scene last night.
“There is a lot of pain in Tolentino in just one week,” said the mayor, referring to recent events: the death of 14-year-old Gessica Vulpe, who was hit by a van in the Pace area last Saturday. Also, 60-year-old Alberto Forconi lost his life in a tractor accident. One femicide is too many – continued the mayor – what are we doing? Gentiana was a good person, a loving caregiver and respected by everyone. I thank the authorities who immediately organized psychological support for the couple's two children. The entire community is with them.”
Gentiana had long lived in Tolentino, had bought a house and was an integrated part of the community, loved by her compatriots and local residents.
Now investigators are working to reconstruct the dynamics of the event and to understand the reasons that led the ex-husband to commit the murder. It will also be investigated whether he suffered from psychiatric problems and whether he was receiving treatment. The event is being treated as premeditated murder with aggravating circumstances.
