New details are learnt of an assassination attempt prevented by police forces two days ago in Vlora.

According to the information, the 35-year-old arrested Amarildo Nikolli is a hit man and was prepared to carry out an execution.

His target is Inez Hajrulla, a well-known name of the country's criminal underworld, and who survived two attacks earlier.

The alleged shooter was caught in flagrant by police with a pistol with a silencing gun, two sets of clothes and hood. He was also allegedly accompanied by two other persons serving as observers and informers.

Inez Hajrulla survived an assassination attempt in 2019 when he was shot by a car walking in the Cold Water area. It is suspected that the perpetrators sought to execute Hajrulla in retaliation for another criminal event that had occurred a while earlier in that period, with two dead and one injured.
