Special Judge Elsa Ulliri will be the head of the trial panel for the Partizani affair file, which has already gone to trial with the defendants former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi and their 3 associates.

The draw was made today at the GJKKO, while judges Bib Ndreca and Rudina Palloj are the two members of the judging panel.

This three-judge panel will have to set the date of the first trial session on the merits within 10 days.

Under corruption charges, Sali Berisha will answer for the privatization affair of the Partizani club, for which SPAK says he used the power that his position as Prime Minister gave him to enrich his family, through his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi. The latter will face justice for passive corruption and money laundering.

Along with Berisha and Malltez, their associates, businessman Fatmir Bektashi, are also accused of "active corruption" and "money laundering."

The charge of "money laundering" has also been communicated to Malltez's partner, Xhimi Begeja, heir to the land and co-owner of 'Homeplan', as well as Andia Pustina, the financier who carried out all of Homeplan's financial and legal operations. The companies "Kontakt", "Homeplan" and "Studio Pustina" have also been brought to trial, all three for money laundering.
