Lezha Police has issued a clarification regarding the news of the arrest of the son of the former SP MP, Dashamir Peza. Gëzim Peza was caught a few days ago with small doses of drugs.

According to the police, it is not true that the event was hidden, arguing that the arrest of Gëzim Peza and several other people was reflected.

The police also clarifies all the procedures that have been followed from the moment when the persons were arrested until the issuance of the security measure by the court.

Clarification of the police

Regarding some news posted on social networks on the capture of the citizen GP in Shengjin on 02 June 2022 who were found with small quantities of narcotics, and allegedly released after a few hours by the Police, we clarify that:

On 02.06.2022, in implementation of the plan of measures to guarantee order and security, during the activity UNUM Festival 2022, in Shengjin, at the entrance checkpoint, was detained for physical control citizen GP 36 years old, resident in Tirana. During his physical control, small quantities of narcotics were found and seized as material evidence.

After this finding, by the specialists for Narcotics Investigation in DVP Lezha, all procedural investigative actions were performed, arresting in flagrante delicto the citizen GP for the criminal offense "Production and sale of narcotics" and the procedural materials in his charge were referred to the Prosecution of the Lezha Judicial District for further actions.

From the moment of arrest, the citizen GP stayed in the detention rooms in DVP Lezha, until the moment he was sent to the premises of the Court of First Instance Lezha for the court session to validate the arrest and impose a security measure.

In the court session, the Court has validated the arrest made by the specialists for Narcotics Investigation, the citizen GP, ​​imposing on him the security measure "home arrest".

After the end of the court session for imposing the security measure by the Court, the specialists for Narcotics Investigation executed the Order of the Prosecutor for the implementation of the Court Decision, where the citizen GP was sent to his apartment accompanied by the police services. .

We also inform that his arrest, as well as that of several other citizens suspected of various criminal offenses, during the days of the festival, were published on the official website of the State Police, www.asp.gov.al/ daily report of events state police June 3, 2022.

Also, the Local Police Directorate of Lezha has given a summary notice on the results of closing the activity.

In conclusion, we emphasize that, as in the case of the above-mentioned citizen, as well as in all other cases, the Lezha Police has carried out all procedural investigative actions in accordance with the standard procedure, impartially and legally.
