Peruvian media have uncovered the identities of two Albanians, who are the "heads" of a drug trafficking group and the "owners" of 2.2 tons of cocaine seized a few days ago in Peru.
These are citizens Frank Malo and Gentjan Meta, who are also known by different names such as "Barbas" and "Pelado" and have been declared internationally wanted.
According to the Peruvian anti-narcotics police, Albanian traffickers often frequented the premises of an agro-industrial company, while it is known that both Albanians are important representatives of the Albanian drug gangs and part of the Los Balcanes cartel.
They stayed in a luxury hotel, located in El Golf, while traveling to the Peruvian city for financing, as well as to take care of logistics and coordination in the trafficking of more than two tons of cocaine. The two Albanians have entered Peru legally through Ecuador posing as tourists, to carry out the shipment of drugs that would be transported by sea through the port of Callao and had as destination the Netherlands.
According to Peruvian police, Frank Malo and Gentjan Meta are the "heads" of a group of Albanian, Colombian and Ecuadorian members involved in drug trafficking from Latin American countries to Europe.
They paid for the cocaine with virtual currencies, Bitcoin and the drugs seized in Peru were worth about 160 million euros. The cocaine was hidden in boxes with asparagus. The day the cocaine was seized, 7 people were arrested.
