Interior Minister Taulant Balla says that the State Police has doubts that the fire in the waste field near the Elbasan incinerator is intentional.

For this reason, he requested that the police increase security and presence near the landfills.

"I have ordered the State Police to increase security near landfills across the country. I have requested that the municipal police also establish a 24-hour control service and that the fire services be nearby to prevent any arson. The State Police has doubts that either the fire in Elbasan or the attempt in Fier are intentional," says Minister Balla.

The fire in the waste field in Elbasan is favored by the wind and high temperatures.

Members of the Armed Forces also went to the aid of the firefighters to help put out the flames.
