A 26-year-old Albanian was sentenced to one year in prison by a court in Great Britain for cultivating narcotics. Local media report that it is citizen Geraldo Xixi.

He was put in handcuffs after being caught on a cannabis farm. As soon as he spotted the police, who forcibly entered the apartment, the young man climbed onto the terrace of the house where cannabis was cultivated. He ran across the roofs of other houses for about half an hour on the roof until he finally fell into the hands of the police. 

During the inspection, the police found 130 plants worth 60,000 euros, which were cultivated under the supervision of the 26-year-old, while according to the authorities, they had put the other adjacent houses at risk by the way they had connected the electricity.

Geraldo Xixi claimed before the court that his family was involved in "blood feud" after his father had killed a person in his hometown. According to him, he entered the UK illegally with the help of one of the Albanian gangs that was involved in the cultivation of cannabis. 

In front of the black squads, Xixi said that he had fallen prey to drug trafficking gangs with the promise that he would work in construction. But he was exploited by them as they were aware of his family's involvement in the blood feud. The Albanian also stated that he had to collect money to take care of his sick mother.

Meanwhile, according to the English prosecution, the Albanian has not had any previous convictions in Great Britain. They have sent a request to the Albanian authorities to find out about any possible punishment in Albania, but so far there has been no response.

According to British prosecutors, Xixi had studied business management in Albania, but he had left school unfinished because his mother's health had deteriorated and therefore he had come to the UK to make money as soon as possible. it was possible for his mother's medical care.

According to the English court, it has been proven for Xix that he worked in the cannabis plantation that was run by an Albanian criminal gang and that the income was used to finance other criminal activities. British justice authorities have asked for further investigation to find the leaders of drug trafficking as this would be the only way to stop their activities.

After the end of the prison, Xixi will be deported to Albania, while the deportation to the homeland will depend on the Ministry of the Interior.
