The moment he is arrested

The perpetrator of the attack in Magdeburg, Germany, was arrested just minutes after he drove a BMW into a crowd of hundreds of people at a Christmas market.

The footage circulating shows the moment when the 50-year-old from Saudi Arabia stops his car, raises his hands and surrenders to German special forces by lying on the ground, without reacting when handcuffs are placed on him.

WELT, citing security sources, claims that the attacker is from Saudi Arabia and worked as a doctor in Germany, while he had rented the car shortly before the attack.

Meanwhile, the toll from the attack has risen as BILD reports at least 11 dead and 80 injured, many of whom are in serious condition.
