The Albanian hostage taker in London is arrested after 9 years
British police

Roland Beqiraj, the Albanian who was wanted by the Albanian authorities under the suspicion of being involved in a hostage-taking in 2014, is arrested after 9 years.

Referring to court documents, presented at the extradition court in London, Top Channel reports that there was an international arrest warrant against the 30-year-old. The Albanian was arrested by the extradition team, but no other details were given about his residence status in England.

In the arrest warrant issued by Albanian justice, it is stated that "Roland Beqiraj on 11/09/2014 in Albanian territory unjustly deprived the freedom of another Albanian citizen, Elton Visha, against his will"

The extradition process against him will continue on 02/10/2023 at 10:00, from where Judge DJ Griffiths will read the decision on this extradition request from the Albanian state. Until this date, Roland Beqiraj will remain free on bail after the relatives have set a financial guarantee of 5,000 pounds sterling.

His Albanian passport was taken from him and every Monday he must appear at the police station in Colindale, London./ TCH
