The Police Supervision Agency has arrested police officer Fatbardh Kuçana , part of the Tropoja police.

According to the AMP announcement, Kuçana is suspected of committing the criminal offenses of " Smuggling of goods for which excise duty is paid"  and  "Disobedience to the order of a public order police officer ."

The arrest was made in circumstances where the policeman was found driving a Volkswagen type vehicle with a trailer, in which he had a tank full of diesel loaded.

Kuçana crossed the customs territory at Qafë Morina Customs without obeying orders to stop and verify the cargo.

After investigations, the smuggled quantity of oil, which amounted to about 1,000 liters, was found.

AMP announcement: 

The Police Supervision Agency (Kukës - Dibër Region) has arrested in flagrante delicto the police officer Inspector F. K, acting as General Patrol Officer at the Tropoja Police Commissariat, suspected of committing the criminal offenses "Smuggling of goods for which excise duty is paid... etc." and "Disobedience to the order of a public order police officer."

The arrest was made possible after on 24.05.2026 at around 18:00, driving a Volkswagen vehicle together with a trailer in which he had loaded a tank filled with diesel fuel, he crossed the customs territory by not obeying the services of the Qafë Morinë Border Control Point and Customs Services for verifying the load and following the procedures. After conducting investigative actions and weighing by the relevant authorities, the weight resulted to be 840 kg.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Kukës.
