This citizen is suspected of having, on 08.08.2026, near his apartment, started a fire to burn a quantity of grass, but the flames got out of control and, due to the wind, spread towards the Kruja mountain, endangering inhabited areas.
Police services, in cooperation with emergency structures, have taken measures for the partial evacuation of residents who were near the fire, as a preventive measure to guarantee their lives and safety.
Thanks to the engagement of forces on the ground, the firefighting operation continues, with ground forces and air support intervening, with the aim of isolating the fires and preventing the spread of flames towards residential areas.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecution Office for further action, for the criminal offense of "Destruction of property by fire".
The Tirana Local Police Directorate appeals for maximum caution from citizens, inviting them not to take actions that could cause arson, as they will face the law.
"It also invites citizens to report any case of illegality to the number 112, guaranteeing anonymity and immediate response," the police announced.
