A fire has broken out in difficult terrain, on the border between the villages of Golem and Progonat in the Gjirokastra district.

Based on the alert received by AKMC, about a fire between the villages of Golem and Progonat, a fire service team immediately headed to the scene.

The hearth of the fire was located on the top of the mountain, on the dividing line between two villages, in extremely difficult terrain.

Thanks to the immediate intervention and work of firefighters, it was possible to isolate the source and then completely extinguish the fire, preventing its further spread.

The fire burned an area of ​​about 3 hectares, with low vegetation, shrubs and grasses.

The fire service continues to be on the scene monitoring the territory for any possible reactivation.
