The Minister of Interior, Besfort Lamallari, has signed the order to increase the age limit for admission to the State Police, expanding opportunities for young candidates, experienced professionals and employees from other security structures.

According to the new order, candidates who have completed high school education can apply up to 35 years of age for enforcement roles, including the General Patrol, through the Basic College. Candidates at this age can also apply for Bachelor's studies at the Security Academy, aiming for the rank of deputy commissioner.

For persons who have completed the second cycle of higher education, with suitable profiles such as economics, finance or information technology, the age limit goes up to 40 years. These candidates can be accepted into their first management role after completing a specialized course for deputy commissioners.

Meanwhile, there will be no age restriction for employees coming from other security institutions, if they meet the admission criteria and procedures.

"This is a fair decision-making process, which offers equal opportunities in relation to everyone's commitment and experience, without being penalized by rigid criteria applied uniformly to candidates with different educational and professional levels," the minister said.

The decision comes in response to numerous requests addressed to the minister through social networks and direct communications, from citizens who wish to join the State Police and contribute to the security of the country and its citizens.
