8 thefts in two months/ 49-year-old arrested in Durrës, accomplice sought!

Durrës Police have finalized the operation codenamed "Midsummer", solving 8 cases of thefts committed during the months of July and August 2026.

As part of the operation, Crime Investigation specialists at the Durrës Police Station have identified two suspected perpetrators and accomplices in these cases.

Citizen G. Th., 49 years old, resident of Durrës, who was caught and arrested in flagrante delicto after stealing a mobile phone, has been arrested. Meanwhile, the police continue to work to capture the suspected accomplice, MB, 32 years old, resident of Durrës.

According to investigations, the two suspects are suspected of acting in collaboration during the months of July and August, committing a total of 8 thefts.

In 6 of the cases, it concerns the theft of wallets, cell phones and personal items, while in 2 other cases it is suspected that the electricity meter was stolen.

Investigations continue to fully document the events, as well as to uncover other cases of theft that may have been committed by these citizens.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further action.
