Nexhmedin Danaj, the owner of "Vlora Cable", has been arrested in Dubai, after being declared wanted by SPAK as part of investigations into money laundering and drug trafficking.

According to data made public during the investigation, the money is also suspected of having been moved to Dubai through the company “General Trading LLC”, based in the United Arab Emirates.

Nexhmedin Danaj's name emerged as part of the international operation "Ura", conducted by SPAK and Italian authorities against groups suspected of international drug trafficking and money laundering.

As part of this operation, “Vlora Cable”, owned by Danaj, as well as the “Dubai Inn” business, were placed under seizure. SPAK announced that the investigations, conducted during the years 2020–2025, documented 40 episodes of narcotics trafficking, including cases of cocaine and heroin trafficking.
