With an official request addressed to the Municipality of Durrës, the Ministry of Culture and other institutions, a representative of the civic group against the TID project in Durrës demands the immediate suspension of all works, demolitions and expropriation procedures.

According to legal documents, with the entry into force of Council of Ministers Decision No. 621 of July 2026, the 2020 decision declaring Zone 5 as a development zone, on which the entire urban redevelopment project near the Archaeological Park and Amphitheater was based, was repealed.

Of the 74 properties initially scheduled for expropriation, at least 20 of them are no longer subject to interference or demolition.

Residents are demanding a complete review of the project, updating of property lists, individual notification for each family, and suspension of financing and procurement until the legal situation is reassessed.

"They have no right to destroy our homes," said one citizen.

The owners' representatives warn that continued interference with already repealed legal acts makes the project impossible and illegal, while they demand an official response from the institutions within the legal deadlines.
