The stay in the open sea has ended, the Turkish ship "Moliva" with 2100 tons of suspected toxic waste is anchored in the port of Durrës.

After traveling around the world, the containers with waste return to where they started in the summer of this year, as a function of the investigation that the Albanian authorities started.

The investigation was officially launched by the Durrës prosecutor's office on August 16, after the alarm given by the American environmental organization Basel Action Network (BAN).

After the anchoring, the unloading of 102 containers at the quay is expected to begin and then, under the monitoring of the State Police, their relocation to the place where they will be deposited, a seized territory on the outskirts of Durrës.

The ship with the waste rejected by the Thai authorities arrived in Durrës on October 28. It was left in the outer row of the sea port pending the provision of the conditions required by the Durrës prosecutor's office for their storage location, which has already been determined as well.

For 10 days, the ship was in the harbor.
