Activist and one of the leaders of the protest, against the clash with MPs: The

Civic Resistance activist, Migen Qiraxhi, has reacted to the violent incidents that occurred today in front of Parliament, where several police officers were injured, while 23 protesters were escorted to the police station.

In a Facebook post, Qiraxhi wrote that he had warned him that moving the protest to the Parliament was harmful.

According to him, the strength of the protest lies in three elements: massiveness, creativity and calm. He further emphasizes that, after the violence carried out near Parliament, these three elements that characterize the protest are in danger of being lost.

" The protest that represents us is civic, peaceful, massive and dignified, where our cause is not weakened by tension, but strengthened by endurance ," the activist emphasizes.

Finally, he underlines that, after today's incidents, lessons must be learned and protesters should not be divided, but should remain calm.

Qiraxhi's full post:

Whoever took to the streets for 32 days did so precisely because they know who the government and political establishment in this country are, and having agreed without speaking about this, we chose to fight with Massivity, Creativity, and Peace.

I understand the fatigue, frustration, and anger of citizens after weeks of protest, but losing our composure does not serve our cause. Any violent or uncontrolled reaction by anyone, no matter how provoked, undermines the message and civic strength of the protest.

The police reaction today was harsh, disproportionate and at many moments provocative. The police should not behave as a political party, but as an institution that guarantees the security, right to assembly and dignity of citizens.

Our strength has never been in the clash.

Our strength has been in massiveness, creativity, and calmness.

I have been against moving the protest to Parliament for weeks, because there we risk losing precisely these three elements that have made us strong and righteous in the eyes of the public.

The protest that represents us is civic, peaceful, massive, and dignified, where our cause is not weakened by tension, but strengthened by resilience.

Today we should learn a lesson, not divide.

Let's stay calm, protect each other, and not allow anyone to divert the protest from its purpose.
