Event in 2021
Hasan Ferracaku was one of two injured in the June 26, 2021 massacre in Velipojë along with his 17-year-old nephew ED, who were arrested immediately after the serious incident.
In that gunfight, Kujtim Ferracaku, 59, and his two brothers, Edmond Gocaj, 38, and Xhovani Gocaj, 25, were killed, as well as 20-year-old waiter Myzerim Zeneli, who was on his first day of work. For that incident, the police at the time also announced that Hasan Ferracku's 3 sons, Abedin, Shyqyri, and Besmir Ferracaku, were wanted.
The killing of four citizens and the wounding of two others came after a conflict between the Gocaj family and the Ferracaku family over a plot of sun loungers on Velipoja beach.
The argument escalated into the use of weapons. Two pistols were seized at the scene, one found at the scene and the other at the Gocaj hotel.
The prosecution's file states that the brothers Hasan and Kujtim Ferracaku had a conflict with the Gocaj brothers over sharing beach chairs and met for dinner to clarify matters.
The evidence shows that the Ferracaku family members went armed to the Gocajs' hotel and sat at the table with Edmond Gocaj. From the examination of the scene, it was concluded that 4 weapons were used, a Kalashnikov by Xhovani Gocaj and three pistols by Kujtim Ferracaku, Hasan Ferracaku and the latter's son Abedini.
According to Hasan Ferracak, the first to fire was Edmond Gocaj, who was sitting at the table, and then Kujtim Ferracak fired back. His nephew told a different story of the incident.
17-year-old ED is quoted as saying that he heard his grandfather say "These are taken, who are you" and after this moment he heard gunshots coming from behind him.
The prosecution has seized security camera footage to better understand how the conflict began.
