The General Directorate of Road Transport Services has undertaken an action to verify driving schools throughout the country. The first phase started in Tirana, where 70 subjects were verified if they were exercising their activity in compliance with the legal and regulatory framework.

At the end of the inspection, the directorate found a number of driving schools in violation, proposing administrative measures. The Directorate decided to suspend the activity of 13 driving schools, where 10 suspensions are for 1 month.

For 3 others, it was proposed to the National Business Center to revoke the license to exercise the duty. In addition, it has been proposed to remove from office a person in charge of the driver's license sector in Tirana and ban the practice of profession for two driving school instructors.

Other disciplinary measures were given to a vehicle registration specialist in Tirana, for a violation in issuing a traffic permit for a driving school vehicle that did not meet the criteria.

The General Directorate of Road Transport had warned of the action taken, after the signals received that in some of these institutions the activity was carried out in serious violation of the legal provisions.
