38 fires have been registered in the last 24 hours across the country, of which 31 have been extinguished, while 7 others are still active.

They are distributed in regions such as Vlora, Lezha, Dibra, Berat and Shkodra.

The situation is more problematic in the Finiq Municipality, where fires have surrounded several villages. These include villages such as Velahovo, Livinë, Ardhasovo, Bistrica, Krongj, Dhrovjan and Krane, where fires have continued even during the night, including residential areas.

Due to the high risk, authorities evacuated residents in Livina, Krongj and Ardhasovë, while teams were deployed to provide medical assistance to the elderly.

Despite the efforts of firefighters from several municipalities and over 70 army and police forces, the fires burned down a house and a church, as well as large areas of olive and other fruit trees.

In the early hours of the morning, a rescue operation aimed to stop the fire from spreading towards the Bistrica Hydropower Plant, which also risked burning.

In this municipality, the situation is also problematic due to the rugged terrain, which has forced civil emergencies to intervene from the air to extinguish the flames.

For security reasons, vehicle traffic was previously restricted on the Muzinë - Bistrica axis, which Defense Minister Pirro Vengu said will be closed until the end of the firefighting operation.

Another fire broke out this afternoon near the city of Gjirokastra, endangering the water pump station that supplies the city.

But the intervention of firefighters quickly brought the situation under control.
