The Durrës police have given new details about the operation in the Port, after suspicions of cocaine in a container.

The permanent joint Task Force, consisting of the Border Police of the Port of Durres, the Criminal Police of the DVP Durres and the Customs Authorities of the Port, found an unsealed container loaded with bananas. So far, according to the police, 20 citizens have been arrested in the act.

Specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Illegal Traffic and Narcotics and the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime, in DVP Durrës, in cooperation with the Prosecution of the Judicial District of Durrës, arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses "Abuse of duty" and "Breaking, removing , replacement of customs authorities' security marks" carried out in cooperation, citizens:

- J. Gj., 26 years old, resident of Durrës, by duty an employee of the Port Security Force, in the Port of Durrës;
- AM, 21 years old, resident of Durres, on duty as an employee of the Port Security Force, in the Port of Durres.

- GH, 49 years old, resident of Durrës, with the duty of operator of the company "Marinier" that operates in the Port of Durrës;
- AZ, 29 years old, resident of Durrës, on duty as an employee of the Port Security Force, in the Port of Durrës;

- SP, 52 years old, resident of Durrës, on duty as an employee of the Port Security Force, at the Port of Durrës;
- AQ, 31 years old, resident of Durrës, on duty as an employee of the Port Security Force, in the Port of Durrës;

- KD, 49 years old, resident of Durrës, by duty an employee of the Port Security Force, in the Port of Durrës;
- MD, 47 years old, resident of Durrës, by duty an employee of the Port Security Force, in the Port of Durrës;

- KL, 34 years old, resident of Durrës, on duty as an employee of the Port Security Force, at the Port of Durrës;
- Sh. H., 58 years old, resident of Durrës, by duty an employee of the Port Security Force, in the Port of Durrës;

- A. Xh., 54 years old, resident of Durrës, working as an employee of the Port Security Force, in the Port of Durrës;
- AB, 40 years old, resident of Durrës, working as an employee of the Port Security Force, in the Port of Durrës;

- VK, 32 years old, resident of Durrës, on duty as an employee of the Port Security Force, in the Port of Durrës;

- RB, 27 years old, resident of Durrës, with the duty of operator of a company that operates in the Port of Durrës;
- AB, 54 years old, resident of Durrës, on duty as an employee of the Port Security Force, at the Port of Durrës;

Also, the following citizens were arrested for the criminal offense of "Abuse of duty":
- Gj. D., 39 years old, resident of Durres, on duty as an employee of the Port Security Force, in the Port of Durres;
- Sh. E., 57 years old, resident in Shijak, Durrës, by duty an employee of the Port Security Force, in the Port of Durrës;
- PT, 31 years old, resident of Durres, on duty as an employee of the Port Security Force, in the Port of Durres.

Following the actions, the citizens were arrested red-handed for the criminal offenses "Smuggling with other goods" and "Breaking, removing, replacing the security signs of the customs authorities" in collaboration:

- AM, 46 years old, resident of Durrës, worker in the company that was waiting for the shipment of bananas;
- NA, 46 years old, resident of Durrës, driver in the company that was waiting for the shipment of bananas.

Their arrest was made after during the checks carried out by the permanent joint Task Force composed of the Border Police of the Port of Durres, the Criminal Police of the DVP Durres and the Customs Authorities of the Port, an unleaded container with lead was found in the Port of Durres .

After this container was opened, it was noticed that its surface was loaded with banana crates, and that the container was missing banana crates.

The Investigative Structures of the Local Directorate of the Durrës Police in cooperation with those of the Department of Criminal Police in the State Police, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office of the Judicial District of Durrës, are continuing the work to clarify and fully document this event and bring the persons to legal responsibility others involved in this event.

The first investigative materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further procedural actions.
