The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, stated that the party he leads supports the protest "from the first minute", but is not its organizer.

"The Democratic Party has been in protest since June 1, but I want to clarify one thing. The past summer was characterized by the largest civic protest in the history of the country. In these circumstances, the protest party, the mother of protest in Albania, adapted and respected the civic character. Hundreds of thousands of DP members participated every night, without its symbols.

He decided to respect the spirit and civic character. As for the student protest, they are trying hard to be authorial, but the truth is that the protest was called by the University Union, on October 13, to the Ministry of Education. False analyses are disgusting. The call for protest was responded to by the Youth Forum of the Democratic Party, the university branch. So, on the 13th, hundreds of members of the DP structures, but also groups unrelated to the Forum, participated in the protest.

"Edi Rama attacked them brutally and thought that by brutally suppressing them on the first day, their voice would be silenced. On the contrary, they called for a protest again. We are in support of the student revolt and in their defense," Berisha said in the studio of "ÇdoKënd" by Merita Haklaj, on A2CNN.

Berisha emphasized that the Democratic Party does not claim to be the organizer of the protest, "but we have participated from the first minute."

"Our structures at universities and high schools responded to the call for protest, but we are not organizers," the democratic leader emphasized.

According to him, "all allied parties are in support of the protest."
