As reported by Diario AS, the Brazilian president's plan was to sign the Italian earlier this week. Finally, Ancelotti reached an agreement this Monday to take charge of the "selecao" and will begin his new adventure this June, during the international break.
He has signed a contract until the 2026 World Cup with the option to extend it until the 2030 World Cup.
The Italian's first match on the bench will be against Ecuador on June 6, corresponding to week 15 of the South American qualifiers, while his home debut will be on June 10 in Soo Paulo against Paraguay.
Ancelotti ends his second season at Real Madrid, becoming the coach with the most titles in the club's history. He will say goodbye to the club with 15 trophies won, three Champions Leagues, three European Super Cups, an Intercontinental Cup, two Club World Cups, two La Liga titles, two Spanish Super Cups and a Copa del Rey.
