Emre Can is always grateful to Juventus. Not only for his experience with the whites on the pitches of Serie A. Interviewed by DAZN, the midfielder revealed that he had discovered he had thyroid cancer in 2018 thanks to the medical tests carried out before the free transfer from Liverpool to Turin.
Controls that made it possible to identify the timely treatment of the disease.
"I am extremely grateful to the doctors: a few months after the medical visits with Juve, they called me. I didn't even know what was going on, I had never heard of a thyroid and didn't know I had a tumor. The transfer to Turin was worth it for that alone."
Emre Can further explains:
"I had thyroid cancer and I urgently needed an operation. This event has changed my life a lot. You can have a lot of money, you can have everything, but health is the most important thing. It's part of life, I advise everyone to do some checks. It doesn't matter how healthy we believe we are; if we discover these things in time, we can recover."
The words after the tragic death of Mihajlovic and Vialli make even more noise and strike deeply. Without the in-depth checks when he was transferring to Turin, in fact, Emre Can would probably have noticed the tumor late. Perhaps too late to confront him with the same force and effectiveness.
