Rodri wins the Ballon d'Or, Real Madrid boycotted the ceremony
Rodri

Rodri is the winner of the Golden Ball for 2024.

The Manchester City midfielder thus becomes the second Spaniard to win this trophy, after Luis Suarez, who won it in 1960.

The main favorite seemed to be Vinicius Junior, but Rodri, the midfielder of Manchester City and the Spanish national team, was announced as the winner. The Real Madrid delegation, as a sign of protest, decided not to travel to Paris.

Rodri, European champion with Spain and winner of the Premier League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup with Manchester City, is the 2024 Ballon d'Or winner.

The Spanish midfielder, who is on crutches due to a serious knee injury that has sidelined him for the entire season, received the award from George Weah at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
