The Albanian national football team could write an important chapter in its history this month.

The Reds, led by coach Sylvinho, play the last two matches for Group K of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

On November 13, Albania faces Andorra on the road, while three days later England (who have already qualified) comes to Tirana.

Our team holds second place with 11 points, one more than Serbia, and has a real chance of second place, which will send them to the play-off stage, where they will seek a ticket to the World Cup finals that will take place in North America next summer.

Our team is favored because their direct rivals, Serbia, also have a match against England in London and in the event of a Serbian loss, combined with a victory in Andorra, it would send the Red and Blacks to the play-offs.

The legionnaires' form and Sylvinho's dilemmas

Some of the national team's players have not played for their clubs since the  4-2 win against Jordan  in Tirana, putting the coach in a dilemma.

Elseid Hysaj - Hysaj has not played for Lazio for a month. His last match was on October 4, 2025, in a 3-3 draw against Torino.

Kristjan Asllani  - Only 11 minutes in the last two games with Torino are too few for the midfielder who is expected to "explode" this season. Marco Baroni seems to prefer Ilic in the middle of the field.

Armando Broja  - Two games on the bench and only 14 minutes in the last three games, this is the balance of Broja who has only played 197 minutes with Burnley this season.

Nedim Bajrami - The fantasy player has been left out of the Rangers squad in Scotland, but he has a guaranteed call-up to the national team.

In the last round with their clubs, some of the legionnaires scored. Medon Berisha, Arbër Hoxha, Mario Mitaj, Jasir Asani or Indrit Tuci scored, Myrto Uzuni missed a penalty, while Ardian Ismajli managed to assist.
