Only a few details separate the Brazilian coach from his new role with the European national team, according to his manager Edu Schmidt.
Without a club since leaving Corinthians in February of this year, Sylvinho is close to becoming the new coach of the Albanian national team.
The former player has been talking with the leaders of the AFL for several days and is close to being officially appointed as the new coach of the Balkan country.
As GOAL learned, only the details separate the coach from the official announcement. The management staff of the coach in question, led by former player Edu Schimidt, confirmed the progress in the negotiations with the Albanian Football Federation.
"What I can say is that we are close to an agreement with them. There are still some details to be resolved", - said Edu Schmidt for GOAL. The tendency is for the parties to reach a consensus and for Sylvinho to actually become the new coach of Albania.
Sylvinho was previously coach of Corinthians for 43 games. His record in this experience was 16 wins, 14 draws and 13 losses, with 42 goals scored and 40 conceded. The coach left the club in February, after he could not stand the great pressure from Corinthians fans because of the football played. Before that he went through the Lyon bench, where he managed only 11 games.
