The Albanian U-19 national football team has ended its participation in the first European qualifying group of this age group with two deep losses.
Within a few days, the team led by Armando Cungu was defeated 3-1 by Belgium and today 5-0 by Spain. Results that put an end to Albania U19's chances of qualification even as the third best team in the group, as the 1-8 scoreline leaves little room for discussion.
But, above all, these results confirmed what we wrote before about the "incompetence" and incompetence of the coach of the national team of this age group, Armando Cungu. The failure falls squarely on him and he must bear the responsibilities for these embarrassing losses.
According to the sources from the representatives of the technical staff of the age teams at the AFL, Armando Cungu has been unable to create a team where the best skills of the Albanian youth are harmonized.
According to the same source, the most problematic sector was the midfield according to the representative of the Federation who does not want to be identified. According to him, the biggest scandal that has ever happened in the history of football is the recruitment and activation of the coach's own son, midfielder William Cungu. This has undoubtedly deprived him of any possible professional credibility, which is thought to have also affected the morale of the team.
The last two defeats of the U-19 national team have come from the small Cung, unfortunately for the big Cung. In both games, one minute after the activation of William, our team suffered embarrassing goals. In fact, not only our source in the Federation but also other members of the team are surprised by the choice of the father coach, since his son under normal conditions is a bench player in his team and moreover, he had been away from the fields for four months. blerta due to an injury.
Armando Cungu was convinced that without his son the team could not function like a Swiss watch, but he learned the right lesson, a punishment that our team should never have to take with these two scandalous results.
The Albanian Football Federation, which has at least tolerated these violations of ethics and professionalism, will have to take the necessary steps to raise the work with age teams to the required level. The U-19 national team is a springboard to absorb the best Albanian players of continuity, so those who have undertaken to select and activate the best should open their eyes so that the team in its confrontations is not desecrated. And the work of the AFL on Monday should begin with the dismissal of this incompetent and nepotistic coach.
