Luis Enrique's impossible mission: Why PSG haven't played any

Everything stopped on July 13, the day of the Club World Cup final lost against Chelsea, and the team will return to the field on August 13 for the European Super Cup against Tottenham, which will take place in Udine.

In between, just a break, seeing as Luis Enrique's team's preparations began on August 6 and will only last a week.

It is the impossible mission of the Spanish coach who will prepare the team to play for the first trophy of the season with only seven days of training on foot, unlike what all other teams in Europe have done.

The Parisians have not played any friendly matches and will not play any before the start of the French championship on August 17.

Such a busy calendar requires well-thought-out organization, but there is not always enough time to put it into practice.

PSG players have had several weeks off and only returned to training on August 6, but they have a few days available to prepare for the match against Tottenham, for the European Super Cup.

There was no possibility for the training camp to start earlier (it was even postponed by two days) because all the players had a physiological need to rest.

It's a peculiar choice, considering that Chelsea have also chosen to organize friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and Milan before the start of the Premier League, forgoing the usual tour around the world.

For this reason, PSG will be the only major club in the world to start the new season without holding any friendlies during the summer and with a greatly reduced physical preparation.

The European Super Cup is approaching and it will be a race against time for Luis Enrique, who will have very little time available to work with the team and will face a very difficult mission to return to victory after the defeat against Chelsea.
