Luis Suarez has announced his withdrawal from the Uruguay national team. The attacker announced the decision this Tuesday, where he could not hold back his tears.
The 37-year-old footballer, who is gathered with the national team for this month's matches, declared that Friday's challenge against Paraguay will be his last in Uruguay.
"Friday will be my last match with the national team. I have thought about it for a long time and analyzed everything. I think the time is right. I leave in peace with myself, because I gave everything with the national team. I don't regret anything. To retire of my own accord and not because of injuries or being left out, is something that gives me comfort," Suarez declared.
The game against Paraguay will be Suarez's 143rd game with Uruguay, where he became the all-time top scorer with 69 goals.
