On Tuesday, the Albanian national team will face Latvia in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. On the eve of this important match, UEFA has revealed the names of the referees who will officiate the match.

A Turkish referee has been appointed for the match. The main referee will be Umut Meler, a well-known and often discussed name in the international arena, especially after a sensational incident in December 2023, where he was physically attacked by the president of the Turkish club Ankaragucu, after the end of the match against Rizespor.

He will be assisted by assistants Kerem Ersoy and Ibrahim Uyarcan, while the fourth official is Oguzhan Cakir. The VAR system will be controlled by two German referees: Harm Osmers as the main VAR and Daniel Schlager as the assistant.
