Portugal wins Nations League, Spain "breaks" after penalties

Portugal have won the UEFA Nations League final against Spain, after a dramatic match that ended 2-2 in regular time and was decided on penalties.

Zubimendi opened the scoring for Spain in the 21st minute, but Portugal quickly equalized through Nuno Mendes in the 26th minute. Spain took the lead again at the end of the first half with Oyarzabal's goal (45′).

Cristiano Ronaldo returned to the scorers' list by equalizing in the 61st minute for Portugal.

Portugal proved to be more accurate from the penalty spot. Morata made a mistake for Spain, while the Portuguese scored five penalties to secure the title.

This is the second time that Portugal has won the Nations League, confirming itself as one of the strongest teams in Europe in the new international competitions.
