Gjici's family has decided to give up ownership of the Kukes football club once and for all, selling all the shares it owned.

Supersport finds that the buyers of the northeastern club are two persons, a foreign national, from Latvia and an Albanian, whose identity is not yet known.

The deal to sell shares was reached this Tuesday and now the northeastern club is about to start a new era, this time without the Gjici family.

Under Safet Gjici's direction, Kukës experienced a re-inducement in Albanian football, winning all possible trophies and competing several times in the elimination rounds of European competitions.

The new owners already have 100% of the shares, with the formalization of the ownership agreement expected to take place on August 10.

It is also learned that the technical director of the northeastern club is expected to be appointed former Defender of the Albanian national team, Renato Arapi, while the sporting director will come from Latvia, with the identity still to be revealed.

This season Kukësi will compete in the First Division, where he returned after more than a decade, as the ambition of the new owners is to return to the Albanian football elite, reports Supersport.al.
