The Kosovo Olympic Committee said Saturday that the table tennis representative team has not been allowed to participate in equal rights at the European U-21 Table Tennis Championships held in Serbia's Belgrade.
In an announcement by the Kosovo Olympic Committee, Serbian politics is continuing to be mixed in sport, discriminating against Kosovo sportsmen.
"We have been in constant contact with the Kosovo Table Tennis Federation during the European participation process, for what we condemn the next action of mixing Serbian politics in sport, which is not the first case, when it comes to our sportsmen".
The Olympic Committee said it hopes that "the European Table Tennis Federation (ETTU) will take the necessary measures against the European organiser, in this case Serbia, in the belief that such discriminations will end once and for all", the reaction is said.
Even the Kosovo Table Tennis Federation through a response said that not allowing Kosovo to participate in the European Youth Championship with equal rights like any other member of the European Table Tennis Federation constitutes serious violations and that it will use legal means in all sports judicial mechanisms.
Authorities in Serbia have not given any clarification on the matter. The Serbian authorities' decision prompted strong reactions from authorities in Kosovo under which the ban was unacceptable.
