Manchester City will block the transfer of Bernardo Silva to Barcelona

Manchester City are ready to reject any move to transfer Bernardo Silva to Barcelona this summer.

The Portugal international was linked with a possible move to the Blaugrana last summer before opting to stay at the Premier League champions in the 2021/22 season.

Pep Guardiola previously hinted at his willingness to sell the former Monaco man if he is not happy with his role at the Etihad.

Silva is under contract with City until 2025, and the club could demand around €80 million to release him in any possible departure due to his continued form.

However, according to the Daily Mirror, City have no plans to accept offers for Silva, despite rumors of meetings between his agent Jorge Mendes and Barcelona president Joan Laporta.

Guardiola has reassessed his squad's options ahead of the 2022/23 season and the Catalan coach does not want any further departures before the season starts next month.
