Milan reacted quickly to replace Malick Thiaw, reaching an agreement to acquire Belgian defender Koni De Winter.
"La Gazzetta dello Sport" reports that the Rossoneri have completed the signing of the defender. Negotiations with the defender, who comes from Genoa, were concluded last night, while the clubs have started exchanging documents.
Although final details, such as the payment period, are still missing, the operation is considered closed. Genoa will receive 20 million euros, including bonuses, while Juventus will benefit from a percentage of the sale.
Inter had expressed interest in signing De Winter, a Juventus academy graduate, but did not take action as Bisseck and Pavard are still at the club. Galatasaray and Bournemouth also made offers but failed to come close to a deal.
Faced with the need to quickly replace Thiaw, Milan increased the pressure. First, they agreed a five-year contract with De Winter, earning €1.8 million per season, then they began negotiations with Genoa, helped by the good relations between the clubs, as evidenced by the transfer of Lorenzo Colombo.
