Tragic story/ Cheikh Touré, the kidnapped goalkeeper is killed, his mother could not pay for the 18-year-old's release

A very ugly, terrible story comes from Ghana, where Cheikh Toure, an 18-year-old goalkeeper raised at the Esprit Foot academy, was killed, who had traveled to Ghana to conduct a trial. But in reality it was a trap. A fraud, it seems. A gang had promised him a future in big football, but in reality they wanted to kidnap him. The young footballer was tortured and killed after his mother failed to provide the amount requested for the ransom.

Cheikh Toure kidnapped in Ghana

It sounds like a story from an old detective novel. But, unfortunately, everything is tragically true. Cheikh Toure hoped to become a footballer, or rather, he already was, but he wanted to try to have a beautiful career. From Senegal he had set off for Ghana, thinking that he would hold a trial, but ended up the victim of a network of "fraud and extortion", as announced by the Senegalese Foreign Minister, who confirmed the death.

The mother was unable to find the money for the reward.

According to a careful reconstruction of events, it seems that Touré had gone to Ghana, but as soon as he arrived he fell into a trap. The goalkeeper was kidnapped and in order to free him, the people who had organized this plan apparently demanded 1,300 euros from the family as a ransom. The mother tried every way to collect the amount, but she was unsuccessful.

Then the woman received a video showing her son dead after being tortured. Investigations have been opened and the Senegalese government has been set in motion to bring the body of this unfortunate boy to his homeland, who thought he was following his dream, but instead fell into a deadly trap.
