The UEFA Ethics and Discipline Commission has fined the Albanian Football Federation, due to the incidents that occurred in the match valid for Euro 2024, Albania 2-0 Moldova, played at the "Air Albania" stadium on June 17, 2023.
The fine that must be paid by the AFF is 21,250 euros. According to the announcement, the cause was the flares lit by the group "Fanatics" of Tirana, who were in support of the Albanian national team.
The AFL also appeals to fan groups to respect the regulation. The lighting of flares in the stadium is prohibited by UEFA.
Albania will face in September in the transfer with the Czech Republic, which holds the first place in the group with only 1 point, and then with Poland, which is currently in third place. In case of a draw or victory, the Albanian national team will have a golden chance to qualify for the European Championship, for the second time in its history.
