Carlos Alcaraz is the new Wimpledon champion! The talented Spanish star has managed to defeat the Serbian Novak Djokovic.

Carlos Alcaraz ousted Novak Djokovic in a thrilling five-set match 6-1, 6-7 (7-9), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 to win his first Wimbledon title and second main in general.

The 20-year-old Alcaraz came back strongly in the rest of the set to win 6-1 and take a two sets to one lead in the match.

Djokovic did not go quietly. After a long break between the third and fourth sets, he came back focused and broke Alcaraz in the fifth set.

Alcaraz looked like he might struggle to recover. A break point save in the second game of the fifth set seemed to revive him.

That was all the space Alcaraz needed. Djokovic seemed to be struggling with his right hand and was unable to break Alcaraz.
