Al-Nassr has been sanctioned by FIFA for failing to sign new players, according to information obtained by the 'Mirror'.

All because of a dispute with Leicester, who he owed money from a previous transfer.

This is the deal for Nigerian striker Ahmed Musa, which was closed in 2018 and for which Al-Nassr had to pay the 'Foxes' just over 15 million euros.

An official FIFA ruling says the Saudi team has failed to pay €460,000 plus interest in performance-related bonuses.

The ruling was first published in October 2021, with Al-Nassr warned they would face a transfer ban if they failed to pay Leicester the outstanding amount. It is now believed that they did not respect the decision and the ban was imposed.

This applies to both domestic and international transfers, meaning they currently cannot register any of the stars they have bought from abroad.

FIFA's original decision said the ban would span three transfer windows. Al-Nassr was also advised that the matter will be brought before FIFA's Disciplinary Committee if Leicester have not yet received payment by the end of the ban.

Al-Nassr has suggested that the problem arose before the club was taken over by the Public Investment Fund (PIF). It has been reported that the new squad structure will ensure it does not happen again, while Musa's fee will be paid to Leicester immediately to lift the ban.

Al-Nassr have continued their big spending spree, signing Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic from Inter, while Italian Domenico Berardi and Chelsea man Hakim Ziyech are among the names linked with a move to the club.
